The Autumn Fair
The Autumn Fair in Bree has been held every year for as long as can be remembered. It sees folks from the neighboring villages of Archet, Combe and Staddle as well as Hobbits from the Shire and Dwarves from the Blue Mountains travel to Bree during the month of Wintring to trade craft goods, fruits, vegetables and livestock in preparation for winter. In the evenings, fair-goers dance, make merry and trade news and rumors over pints of Barliman’s Best at the Prancing Pony.
While the Autumn Fair is nothing close to what it was during its heyday at the height of the North-kingdom, it is still the largest gathering of free peoples in Eriador. As such, it’s not unheard of, though still rare, to see Elves, the Dúnedain or, perhaps strangest of all, traveling peddlers in Bree during the month of Wintring.
